Prunus Lusitanica Portuguese Laurel

A broad-spreading tree, this is a popular screening and hedging option. With glossy dark leaves and cream flowers in spring, followed by blackberries, it can be trimmed to topiary standards or left to grow wild and beautiful. Note, berries are poisonous to animals.

  • Can grow to 12m.

Photinia ‘Red Robin’

Featuring bright red growth tips and small white flowers, this hedging plant brings colour to your garden in Spring. A New Zealand-bred cultivar, it is a reliable hedging plant.

Pittosporum Tenuifolium

A versatile native evergreen with dense, attractive foliage and fragrant dark flowers. Tough, fast-growing and frost-hardy, kōhūhū brings year-round structure and texture while also supporting local biodiversity.

Griselinia Littoralis

A popular shrub for hedging, Griselinia features large, glossy leathery green leaves. Easily trimmed to form a strong hedge, this plant offers excellent shelter.
Mature trees can reach 10m+ on sheltered sites. Evergreen. Hardy.
 
Benefits:
  • The hedges can withstand drought and strong winds and the berries will help attract native birdlife and insects.

Elaeagnus x Ebbingei

Fast growing and dense, these glossy, dark-green leaves form a fantastic hedge.
